Cracked Wax

By , June 19, 2012 3:19 pm

Learning Goal: Students in class will create a cracked wax art with a theme of spring and summer flowers. Cracks need to appear in the crayoned parts when you crumple up the paper. These allow the paint to seep through, leaving a cracked wax effect.

Success Criteria:

  • draw a flower with crayon
  • colour the entire picture pressing hard
  • crumble paper
  • paint the picture with tempra paint
  • allow paper to dry

By , June 19, 2012 2:50 pm

In class, students have been investigating probability, chance and likelihood. Students collaborated in groups and created several games that involve probability. Each student had an opportunity to test and play each game.

Learning Goal:  we will play and investigate games of probability and determine the likelihood of who will win and determine if the game is fair.
