Students in class have been reading two award winning novels, Bridge to Terabithia and Island of the Blue Dolphins. After many classroom discussions about characters, setting, conflict, resolution and character development, students have written a  comparison of the two novels.

Learning Goal: we will identify our likes and dislikes about two fiction novels, make recommendations  and discuss our personal opinions.

Karana has been on the island for a long time since the loss of her brother. There are many threats to her. If you were Karana, how would you protect yourself and survive all alone on the island? Explain your thinking in a well developed paragraph.
